Robert Lewis
Bob lewis and his wife Sharon has lived in Sedona for over 6 years. He grew up in tobacco country in rural North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina , graduating in 1972 with degrees in history and chemistry. For several years he worked for the Research Triangle Institute studying educational and housing systems around the Country. He later the attended the University of Michigan to study at the Center for Survey Research . He then worked for an affiliate organization of the Rand Corporation studying housing policy and programs.
He subsequently moved to the Pacific Northwest and began a career in the lumber business. He and his wife owned and operated Columbia Vista Corporation in Vancouver Washington. It was the largest exporter of traditional post and beam lumber from the US to Japan. It also produced nearly 60 %of all utility cross arms used in North America. In 2019 they sold the business and properties to Western Forest Products of Vancouver Canada, their largest competitor.
Additionally the owned and operated 4 restaurants in Vancouver Wa and Portland Oregon as well as a vineyard and winery, Balboa, in Walla walla Washington. Along with their daughter they owned 36 acres of land and homes in Tuscany, Italy. There they produced olive oil for the US market.
Bob was a Board member of the Western Wood Products Association serving as Chairman for 4 years. He was active in the Boys and Girls Club of SW Washington serving on the Board for 9 years, three as Chairman. He currently is the President of the Jordan Park HOA, and is a member of the SIFF board of directors. He has served the last two years on the citizens review committee for the city of Sedona budget review.
